On Angels' Wings, Inc. (OAW) is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit whose mission is to rescue, provide veterinary care for, and find forever homes for abused, abandoned, and neglected pets (dogs, cats, and small animals) in Northern Illinois and beyond. At OAW, we believe the human and animal bond is a mutually beneficial relationship, improving life for both the rescued pet as well as the members of the adopting family. OAW founders Jeannette Hager and her daughter Emily hoped to encourage future generations to embrace this way of thinking, which is why we also educate the community about animal welfare, particularly within the local school system.

On Angels' Wings is an animal rescue, pet adoption center, and upscale resale store. The proceeds from the resale store go toward funding the rescue. It is adjacent to our animal adoption center and houses a variety of donated goods for sale. We also sell a portion of these items online through our eBay store. Items we sell in our resale store include new and pre-owned men's and women's clothing, jewelry, accessories, artwork, holiday items, furniture, and home goods.

We host fundraising events annually and pursue support via grants, but ultimately OAW relies on donations from our generous community to support our life-saving mission.

At OAW, we take a unique approach to animal rescue by treating every pet like a beloved family member while in our care.  With plenty of space, comfy beds, blankets, playtime, socialization, enrichment, quality veterinary care, and love from our volunteers, our pets are happy and healthy when you take them home to join your pack.  OAW also has an extensive foster program to further ensure our rescued pets get the best possible care and have the opportunity to thrive in a home setting while they await their new fur-ever family.

The OAW Resale store offers quality, designer merchandise at accessible prices.  With an ever-changing inventory, there is always a new treasure to be found.  OAW has plenty of perks for our loyal shoppers including regular sales, "Angel Bucks" and our frequent buyer program. Unlike other secondhand and thrift stores, every OAW resale store purchase and donation helps save the life of a homeless pet.

On Angels' Wings is consistently voted among the BEST Animal Rescues/Shelters and BEST Resale Stores in McHenry County by the Northwest Herald Readers' Choice Awards.

The brick-and-mortar resale store and animal adoption center are located in Crystal Lake Plaza (behind Fannie May and across the street from Mariano's).
